What is selfishness?

I believe that every human in this world is born selfish. Right from day one of their day in this world till the very last day. The only difference in each individual is the amount of selfishness they potray.



In Buddhist teaching, one is taught to be self-less. Meaning, we should always think for others before thinking of ourselves. We should always take into consideration whether our action, words might harm others, if our actions will, then one should reconsider taking that action.



I for one, have been attending Sunday Classes from a tender age of 8 till I was in secondary school. I would not say, my knowledge of Buddhism is deep, however, I believe that I do try my best to praticse the teachings of Buddha in terms of selfishness, anger , and compasion.



The teachings of the Buddha is not meant for Buddhist only, it is meant for anyone in this world who seeks to have a better and peacefull live.Hatred, greed, anger, delusion, lust are all evil vibes that harms our life's well-being. Without all these vibes,wouldn't our live be better?



I have always tried to put other's well being before mine. I have yet to receive that same treatment back. I always think for other's people's good before mine, but somehow, they don't understand. I was once a very temperamental teenager, always throwing tantrums. But now, I am a much calmer person.



We as Buddhist are taught not to expect good deeds in return of our own good deeds to others, but I can't help feeling dissapointed that my good deeds sometimes backfire on me or my good deeds are left unnoticed. I pray that one day, people will understand.

I'm addicted to The Pussycat dolls... =/ Wierd.... hmmm....i'm feeling kinda sad right now...nothing to do with me in particular...but somehow...seeing it happen to a friend of mine is quite enough to make me feel her pain... I mean... seeing a 7 year relationship of hers gone down the drain...its kinda sad...its like...the efforts, tears, hardship..all gone in just a day....sighs....



On another note, I went "The Gardens" the other day at Mid Valley 2... i thought i was dead and walked right into the Pearly Gates of Heaven...zzzz..... SALEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! =x To be more specific... Robinsons in The Gardens was on sale.. Took me almost 1/2 hour to find a parking....the place was PACKED!! PACKED I TELL YOU!!! I got extremely lucky to find that parking...beat uncles and aunties and alot of people to that car parking lot...



So as I walked in....to my left was GUESS on sale... 50% and 70%!!! On my right... it was Prada...There was Luis Vuitton... Gucci.. Armani... Celine...and lots of other lavish branded items.... Everyone was like grabbing the items as if they were free... =/ There was this gal beside me that kept saying "OMG OMG.. i think i'm gonna faint while holding a GUESS purse that was originally bout RM300 ++ on 50% sale" .. Her friend had to fan her to keep her awake??



My mum bought a bag from an Australian designer..I can't remember the brand though... As for me... i didn't buy anything ( I knoe!!! I can't believe it as well) =x ahhahaa.... i was too broke...coz i spend alot of my money in IKEA this holidays.. bought lots of cooking utensils..and home decorations.... But i did purchase BIOTHERM products that was on sale.. =) I rekcon that Biotherm is a good brand ..so ladies..SUPPORT BIOTHERM!! =)
